GNUR 4317 - Community and Population HealthThis course focuses on the nurse’s role in population-focused health, incorporating social and cultural characteristics that impact health. Content includes levels of disease prevention, principles of epidemiology, community assessment, environmental health, and disaster preparedness. Emphasis is placed on risk reduction and overall health improvement, disease management, social determinants of health, health equity, and disparities among vulnerable populations across the lifespan in selected community settings. Course delivery includes face-to-face, clinical, and asynchronous online components.
