PSPM 6011 - Scientific Principles of Medicine IIIThis course is the third of the SPM block. This course will provide extensive information regarding structure and function relationships in the central nervous system. It will also provide the most up to date, evidence-based approach to clinical problems in endocrinology such as diabetes, obesity and lipid disorders, thyroid abnormalities, pituitary disease, calcium, bone and osteoporosis, as well as reproductive and adrenal disorders. Students learn through didactic lectures, small group case discussions, and directed reading. This course is taught in an organ system approach and the material is integrated/coordinated with Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Anatomy. The SPM III consists of the following three units: Central Nervous System and Special Senses (CSS); Endocrine System (END); Reproductive System (REP);
