GNUR 4306 - Nursing Care of the Childbearing FamilyEncompasses concepts related to the safe delivery of quality nursing care to childbearing families. Focuses on application of the nursing process of the childbearing family unit. Special emphasis is placed upon communication within an interdisciplinary team, patient safety including principles of infection control, quality improvement, evidenced based nursing care related to traditional and alternative birth processes, patient centered care with consideration of cultural difference to the childbirth experience and the use of informatics and technology.
