GGHSON Graduate Academic Program Goals


Program Goal 1: Prepare students to translate and integrate theory and evidence into the practice of leadership in organizations and healthcare systems (Essentials II, IV & V).

  • SLO 1: Students will effectively lead the integration of solutions to advance nursing practice within healthcare systems based on the critical evaluation of theories, research, and evidence based practice.
  • SLO 2: Students will apply theory, evidence and standards of advance practices to continually improve quality and safety in nursing care for patients across the lifespan.

Program Goal 2: Prepare students to apply advanced practice knowledge to improve patient care and organizational outcomes. (Essentials I, III, V, VII &VIII)

  • SLO 2: Students will apply theory, evidence and standards of advance practices to continually improve quality and safety in nursing care for patients across the lifespan.
  • SLO 3: Students will effectively lead the planning, delivery, management, and evaluation of key organizational processes utilizing advanced nursing practice knowledge.

Program Goal 3: Prepare students to influence healthcare policy and practice to impact care for the diverse populations. (Essentials VI)

  • SLO 2: Students will apply theory, evidence and standards of advance practices to continually improve quality and safety in nursing care for patients across the lifespan.
  • SLO 4: Students will employ advocacy strategies to influence healthcare policy for vulnerable and diverse populations.
  • SLO 5: Students will be prepared as nurse leaders to serve as change agents that participate in the development and implementation of policy to improve practice.

Program Goal 4: Students will demonstrate leadership skills in the design, delivery and evaluation of healthcare systems. (Essentials II, III, V, VIII & IX)

  • SLO 3: Students will effectively lead the planning, delivery, management, and evaluation of key organizational processes utilizing advanced nursing practice knowledge.
  • SLO 5: Students will be prepared as nurse leaders to serve as change agents that participate in the development and implementation of policy to improve practice.
  • SLO 6: Students will model professional behaviors and communication, by incorporating complex decision-making and utilizing advanced nursing knowledge required to facilitate the delivery of safe, quality healthcare.
