This clerkship is paired with the discipline of family medicine in an integrated 16 week block, of which 6 weeks focuses on general surgery and 4 weeks is allocated to a surgical subspecialty selective experience (e.g., orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, and neurosurgery). “Shared” teaching and learning experiences spanning the disciplines of surgery and family medicine are provided to expose students to interdisciplinary approaches to patient care and management.
